Another fun engagement shoot at Yorktown Beach!  This couple is so sweet.  I count my blessings that all the couples I photograph are just so in love... it's wonderful.

Sometimes accidental pictures are the best.  Here, I was just double checking my lighting... but I fell in love with the sweet moment when I saw the image!

I love taking picture for the March of Dimes March for Babies each year in Newport News!  It's such a sweet group coming together for a great cause-- one that is very near and dear to my heart.

Loved capturing this extremely photogenic couple and can't wait for their wedding!  They just pretended the camera wasn't there, acted like themselves, and their love just shines through in the photos.

I can't believe it was a year ago that I was taking pictures for this little cutie's first birthday!  Happy 2nd year little one!

Real Life {Hampton Roads, VA Photographer}

It's important to have pictures taken... even if you're not a 'picture person.'  My brother and his daughters are some of those people.  They don't enjoy dressing up and getting ready for pictures... they'd rather avoid them altogether!  But I insisted that they let me take some of them... just a few quick snaps to remember this time in their lives.  They have overcome so much in the past 10 years, and have come out as a beautiful family... one to be proud of!

So we went out to my parents backyard and took some quick pictures, just wearing what they normally wear-- nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary.  Just them in their everyday lives.  And I treasure these pictures-- I know they will, too!

Little Rylie is always dancing to her own drumbeat in her head... and this session was no exception!  She was a little... distracted for most of the session, but isn't that what makes times like these so special?

Winter Wedding {Newport News, VA Wedding Photographer}

A sweet winter wedding with a gorgeous bride and groom totally in love!

A 'first look' is one of my very favorite things about weddings for those who choose them!  It seems so counterintuitive-- like it's taking away a special moment during the day.  But actually, I think it adds to that special moment!  Instead of seeing each other first at the wedding, this couple opted to meet at City Center beforehand and have a special moment where they first see each other on their wedding day.  They got a chance to talk, smile, hug, and kiss.  A chance to get that little nervousness out before standing in front of family and friends declaring their love.  It was beautiful!
